Fire Cupping
Fire Cupping, also called negative pressure, is used on new injuries, scar tissue or chronically tight muscles. The technique produces profound results, loosening tissue quickly and deeply.
Using glass 'cups', a flame is introduced to the inside to heat up the air then it is withdrawn and the cup is quickly placed on the oiled skin. As the heated air cools, suction is created and the tissue lifts up, pulling blood and lymph fluid towards the surface, breaking through adhesions and pushing toxins out. Cups may be place on areas of tension or scar tissue, they may be used stationary or moving. It is sometimes referred to as negative pressure and it works wonders on injuries, deeply knotted muscles and pain. Perfect for injury recovery or to break up deep seated tension.
